Ferroalloys

Ferroalloy refers to various alloys of iron with a high proportion of one or more other elements such as Ferromanganese,
FeroAluminum, Ferrovanadium. They are used in the production of steels and alloys. The alloys impart distinctive qualities to steel and cast iron.

Non-ferrous metals

In metallurgy, a non-ferrous metal is a metal, including alloys, that does not contain iron (ferrite) in appreciable amounts. Generally more expensive than ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals are used because of desirable properties such as low weight, higher conductivity etc.

Foundry cast iron

Cast iron is a group of iron-carbon alloys with a carbon content greater than 2%. Its usefulness derives from its relatively low melting temperature. The alloy constituents affect its colour when fractured: white cast iron has carbide impurities.
